ABOUT

Thank you for your interest in my artwork!

From as far back as I can remember I had an interest in Art. As a young child, I was very withdrawn and quiet (some would say that I still am, a naturally quiet person). Art provided me with my own world of activities and accomplishments. It gives me a sense of mental well-being.

I spent a lot of time drawing and eventually explored many different mediums, including charcoal, colored pencils, oil pencils, watercolor, and chalk.

I took art classes all through high school and attended some oil painting classes after I had graduated.  Although the painting classes were more of a group that enjoyed drinking coffee and having conversations, it became the start of my oil painting obsession.

I’m a Michigan native. I grew up in a rural town in Northern Michigan and was surrounded by nature. I often painted wildlife and wilderness sceneries.  I continued the group painting classes for several years but with raising a family and attending college it became increasingly difficult to find the time to attend. Eventually, I had stopped going and then had several years where I stopped creating works altogether. I attended many college classes obtaining multiple degrees, but unfortunately none of them for art.

In 2006, I moved to Tallahassee, Florida.  I was finished with college (so I thought) and I began painting again in my spare time.  My paintings continued to be inspired from things that surrounded me.

Over the past several years, I was able to explore using different genres and techniques and feel that my style and creativity is always evolving.  I was recently diagnosed with Essential Tremors, so finding even more techniques to be able to continue to paint as I age will inspire me that much more.

I hope you enjoy my art pieces as much as I enjoyed creating them.
